Lucas Cock grew up in Adelaide — a city that moves at its own pace, where the heat is dry and the sky is wide and people tend to get on with things quietly. He was never the loudest person in the room. He was the one paying attention.

At nineteen, he began a plant apprenticeship that would consume the next three years of his life. Not a desk. Not a screen. Soil, roots, botanical compounds, and the slow science of what the natural world produces when left to do what it does best. He learned to read plants the way other people read books — with patience, with reverence, and with a deep respect for what they could do.

The Problem

The frustration came slowly, then all at once. Every soap he tried was full of solvents. Synthetic fillers. Compounds that stripped the skin, degraded in the shower, or left a residue that felt like the opposite of clean. The brands that claimed to be natural were not. The brands that claimed to perform were full of chemicals he now knew by name — and knew to avoid.
